# GSIKE 15kW 51.2V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery — 16,076.8Wh, 200A BMS, 6000 Cycles, Whole-Home US Backup & Solar

**The GSIKE GSK-51.2V-300AH is a floor-standing 51.2V LiFePO4 home energy-storage cabinet that stores 16,076.8 Wh (about 16 kWh, marketed as a 15 kW class system) and delivers up to 200 A charge and discharge through an intelligent BMS, rated for 6000 cycles at 80% DoD over a 10-year design life. It is built for the US whole-home backup, solar self-consumption and off-grid cabin-shop owner who wants a single 16 kWh node that can scale to 16 cabinets in parallel.**

**What this is (and what it is not).** Model **GSK-51.2V-300AH** is a 51.2V (48V-class) DC energy-storage cabinet — not an inverter, not a transfer switch, and not an all-in-one power station. There is no built-in 120/240V AC outlet and no MPPT solar input on the battery itself. Two numbers matter: it holds **16,076.8 Wh** (51.2V × 314Ah) and its **200A DC ceiling** works out to about **10.2 kW** of continuous DC power — not 15 kW of output. The "15kW" in the name is the energy class (~15–16 kWh), not a 15 kW continuous power rating. To run a US split-phase home you add a **compatible 48V split-phase hybrid inverter** (Pylontech protocol over RS485/CAN).

**Specification note — read before you size loads.** (a) **300Ah vs 314Ah:** the title says 300Ah; the official detail table lists the cell rating as 314Ah. Energy math uses 314Ah × 51.2V = **16,076.8 Wh**. (b) **15kW naming:** the BMS is rated **200A** charge/discharge. At 51.2V that is about **10.2 kW** continuous — plan loads to 200A, not to 15 kW. (c) **Expansion:** parallel only, up to **16 units**; the manual does not specify a series option.

## Why a 16 kWh 48V cabinet fits the US whole-home trend

US home backup buyers are moving past single 5 kWh wall batteries. A single 5 kWh cabinet runs a fridge and a few lights overnight, but a typical American house — fridge, chest freezer, well pump, HVAC fan, Wi-Fi, lighting and a modest kitchen load — draws 1.5 to 3 kWh an hour during an evening outage. At that rate a 5 kWh cabinet is empty by bedtime. The GSIKE GSK-51.2V-300AH stores **16,076.8 Wh**, of which about 12.9 kWh is comfortably usable at the rated 80% DoD, and about 11.5 to 12 kWh reaches the AC side after inverter efficiency. That is the difference between a few hours of outage comfort and a full overnight backup.

At 51.2V the 200A BMS keeps the continuous DC current reasonable for the cable size. Pulling the same 10.2 kW from a 24V bus would demand over 400A and very heavy copper; at 48V the cable run to a split-phase hybrid inverter stays manageable. The cabinet is floor-standing at 109.3 kg, so it belongs on a garage or utility-room floor next to the inverter, not on a wall. Scale is the other reason US homeowners pick this platform: up to 16 cabinets in parallel grows the bank from 16 kWh to roughly 257 kWh for a whole-home or light-commercial install.

Planning estimates only. Derate by inverter efficiency (~95%) and keep a 10–20% state-of-charge buffer. A 3-ton air-conditioner compressor or an electric dryer draws more than a single cabinet should carry continuously; move those to a generator or a larger multi-cabinet bank.

## Protocol matching — which inverter will actually talk to this cabinet

The BMS exposes three physical transports: **RS232, RS485 and CAN-BUS**, speaking the common Pylontech-style data protocol. That is the protocol family most 48V residential hybrid inverters sold in the US already expect, because Pylontech defined the de-facto standard for 51.2V battery comms. In practice this means you can set the inverter battery type to "Pylontech" (or the equivalent LFP / CAN battery preset) and the inverter will read state of charge, cell voltage and temperature from the cabinet and throttle charge and discharge accordingly. We state the protocol rather than certify every model, because firmware revisions and connector pinouts differ between brands and even between versions of the same inverter. Before ordering, tell the merchant your exact inverter model and ask them to confirm the battery setting and the comms cable pinout.

Bus

What it is used for

Practical note

RS485

Primary BMS-to-inverter comms on most Pylontech-compatible hybrids

The default first choice; use the supplied RJ45 / comms cable

CAN-BUS

Faster, more robust comms on newer hybrid inverters

Select the CAN battery preset on the inverter

RS232

Service / diagnostic port

For dealer setup and BMS reading, not the main link

Compatibility is protocol-level, not a guarantee of every feature on every firmware. If your inverter brand is not on the merchant's confirmed list, ask before you buy rather than after.

## Objective pros and cons

### Pros

- **Real whole-home energy:** 16,076.8 Wh per cabinet — roughly 3× a 5 kWh wall battery.
- **200A BMS:** about 10.2 kW continuous DC, enough for a 5–8 kW split-phase inverter.
- **Cycle life:** 6000 cycles at 80% DoD over a 10-year design life.
- **Scalable:** up to 16 cabinets in parallel, toward ~257 kWh.
- **Open protocol:** RS485/CAN/RS232, Pylontech-compatible with common US hybrid inverters.
- **Price:** EUR 1,569.99 struck from EUR 2,250.00 — far below name-brand 16 kWh US systems.

### Cons

- **Not 15 kW output:** the 15 kW badge is energy class; continuous DC ceiling is ~10.2 kW.
- **Heavy:** 109.3 kg net / 126.2 kg gross — two-person install, not a wall battery.
- **DC-only:** you must supply a compatible 48V split-phase hybrid inverter; no AC outlet built in.
- **IP54, indoor:** garage / utility room rated, not outdoor-rated like some all-weather rivals.
- **No series option:** expansion is parallel-only on this platform.
- **Listed in EUR;** confirm USD display at checkout for the US order.

## Lead-acid vs this 16 kWh LiFePO4 cabinet

A lead-acid bank that delivers the same 12 kWh of usable energy would need about 24 kWh of flooded AGM or gel capacity, because lead-acid is typically limited to a 50% depth of discharge. That works out to roughly a dozen 12V 100Ah batteries weighing over 400 kg, needing ventilation, watering and replacement every three to five years. This single 109.3 kg LiFePO4 cabinet delivers about 12.9 kWh of usable energy at the rated 80% DoD, with no watering, no off-gassing and a 6000-cycle / 10-year design life. The up-front cost is higher than a one-off lead-acid purchase, but over a decade the LiFePO4 cabinet wins on both weight and total cost of ownership, and it occupies one floor-standing slot instead of a whole battery room.

## US shipping, returns and warranty

Ships **free within the United States** (shipping rate 0), with **1–3 days of handling** plus **3–7 days of transit**, and a **30-day return window** by post. The cabinet carries a **10-year design life** and a **6000-cycle** rating at 80% DoD. It is sold new and in stock, model GSK-51.2V-300AH.
